Unite - Britain's biggest union
Unite Derbyshire Police shares Unison concern over attempts to change terms and conditions. Unison national office has recently warned local branches of attempts by some forces to open negotiations at force level to change terms and conditions of employment in light of budget cuts or flexible working. Unison has issued detailed advice to branches should any approach be made. We endorse this advice and, whilst we are not part of the local negotiating process, we anticipate that the local Unison branch will follow this advice and immediately report any approach to their Regional Organiser and alert their members. It is our view that the terms and conditions of employment are set nationally by the Police Staff Council ( of which we are a part ) and any changes must be through this negotiating body.
