Unite - Britain's biggest union

About Us

Unite is Britain's biggest union with two million members in every type of workplace.

Unite is the union for the 21st century. Unite was formed by a merger between two of Britain's leading unions, the T&G (Transport & General Workers Union) and Amicus. It was created to meet the great challenges facing working people in the 21st century and is a democratic and campaigning union which fights back for employees in the workplace.

As a trade union, Unite protects your rights, health, safety and wellbeing at work. Unite negotiates on your behalf with employers and the UK and European governments to get a fair deal for you at work.

Unite offers representation and advice at work. Members may face work problems that need to be resolved, or have grievance to bring against employers. Unite staff, Unite full time officers and the legal team are at members' disposal to give the support and advice needed.

Unite is represented on the Police Staff Council and is already working on behalf of UK Police Staff.
